2.General course information
Course requirements
Australian Design College Pty Ltd does not accept any students under 18 years of age and therefore it is a mandatory requirement that all participants wishing to enrol must be at least 18 years of age.
For international students whose first language is not English, the minimum course entry requirement is a level of English language proficiency of 5.5 IELTS or pass the placement English test at our college.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Australian Design College Pty Ltd provides all candidates with the opportunity to have their prior learning and experience assessed and recognised. The experience may have been gained from previous employment, formal training or other relevant life experiences.
In the RPL process, we will match a student¡¯s provided experience to the requirements in a unit of competency criteria and assess whether the recognition can be granted.
Students may apply for RPL by submitting evidence of competency against the unit of competency performance criteria, knowledge and skills requirements. Please contact your training manager for the RPL application form.
Credit Transfer
Australian Design College Pty Ltd recognises the qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by other Registered Training Organisations (RTO). The processes allow the candidate to reduce the time and study load in achieving a qualification.
Candidates who have successfully completed whole units of competency included within one of our courses with another RTO can apply for Credit Transfer. CT applications are processed free of charge.
To apply for a Credit Transfer, a CT application form should be submitted along with original certificates/ Statements of Attainment to the Training Manager. The CT application form is available on request from the training manager.
**Further information on the RPL/ CT process can be accessed by contacting the training manager. Please note that both RPL and CT applications can only be considered for whole units of competency.
Pre-Training Review
To ensure students are placed in a course with an appropriate delivery and assessment strategy we review students existing knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications. Students are asked to complete this Pre-Training Review during the enrolment process by providing details of their existing knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications that are relevant to the course being applied for. Australian Design College Pty Ltd will then review this information and communicate the outcome to applicants.
Language Literacy and Numeracy
In Australian Design College Pty Ltd, all training and assessments are delivered in English. Some courses require a certain level of numeracy. To ensure that we are placing students in an appropriate course that fulfils their individual learning needs, we assess applicants¡¯ language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) skills on application.
We also consider applications from students with specific LLN needs. We encourage potential or current students to contact your training manager for further information. There may be an opportunity available for you considering ¡°reasonable adjustment¡± to your training assessment processes, depending on the level of support you need.
Unique Student Identifier
From the 1st January 2015, it is a regulatory requirement that every person undertaking a nationally accredited course at any RTO must secure a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Australian Design College Pty Ltd collects Unique Student Identifier (USI) data from each enrolled student to ensure compliance with this requirement.
Students are requested to supply their USI at enrolment. Students may instruct Australian Design College Pty Ltd to collect the USI on their behalf by completing the relevant section on the enrolment form.
